Koskikara, or Villa Koskikara, is a functionalist-style building located on the bank of the Kajaaninjoki river next to the Ämmäkoski power plant. The building was completed in 1941 to a design by architect Eino Pitkänen, and it is now a protected building. Its total floor area is 760 square metres. The building also includes a large park-like yard, and in its immediate vicinity there is a brick building with Chinese influences that served as the caretaker's residence. The premises previously housed Restaurant Sirius, which specialised in Finnish food and wine. At that time the house had several meeting rooms with capacities ranging from 12 to 55 people, as well as a sauna cabinet in the basement. The building also contains art, such as Yrjö Rosola's glass relief in the window facing Brahenkatu and a plaster relief in the former library.
